Join Us

Prospective new members should plan to play with the group for a few weeks on a trial basis. With continued interest, the group makes a decision as to whether or not to offer membership.

Important: All members should be able to attend rehearsals from 7:15 - 9:00 PM every Tuesday evening in SE Portland.

OPENINGS (current as of 3/7/2011)

Trumpet:	One strong player needed. May cover different parts based on section needs.
Requirements:	Good intonation, decent reading skills, ability to blend with other players. Ability to transpose helpful, but not required.

French Horn:	Good player needed to join our section – will play a variety of horn parts.
Requirements:	Good intonation, decent reading skills, ability to blend with other players.

Trombone:	One strong player needed to cover a variety of trombone parts, from first to bass as range permits. Some doubling. For part of the year, may cover a part alone while one of our members is gone from the Portland area.
Requirements:	Good intonation, decent reading skills, ability to blend with other players. Nice if you can read tenor clef parts, but not required

Euphonium:	Very strong player able to handle frequent solo parts. Sometimes doubling with another player, but many pieces require two euphoniums or baritone and euphonium parts. This could be covered by a strong trombonist.
Requirements:	Good intonation, decent reading skills, ability to blend with other players. Ability to read treble clef parts helpful.

Tuba:	No current openings, but we would be happy to have your name for the future or for a sub list.
Requirements:	Good intonation, decent reading skills, ability to blend with other players.
